PORTFOLIO PROJECT

INTRODUCTION:

This portfolio project contains the activites that I developed during this last semester, the experience that I had with my students into the classroom, the teaching phylosophy statement, and I explained how was my experience, some of my expectations etc.
I shared some roles of the teacher and some roles of the students, I will share my videotape about my teaching practicum, some teaching journals in which I detailed some activities that I developed during this term.
I will add a lesson plan that I develop with my classmate Patricia Herrera Landaverde and how I felt during this semester.

TEACHER PHILOSOPHY STATEMENTS

TEACHING PHILOSOPY STATEMENT

HOW DO I CONCEIVE TEACHING EFL?

at the begginig of this semester I was feel really enthusiastic, because when I started my last year doing my teaching practicum I feel that things were really difficult for me because of my job.
during this period of time I learned many things, and my point of view about how difficult could be a teacher's job changed.
being a teacher is a really nice experience, you have to be more than an image in front of a group of students, you have to be a friend, a mother, a father, or someone who you students feel confortable with.
I faced many thing during this semester, and I learned more from my students, they were really enthusiactic in my classes, and this help me to be more mature and intearct with them. this teaching practicum was a really nice experience.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE TEACHER IN A EFL CLASSROOM?

well, from my point of view, being a teacher is more than a person who is sharing his or her knowledge, is someone who have to facilitate information, someone who explain things that students do not understan, is the person who have to guide everything in the classroom, and someone who show confidence to his or her students.

what is the role of the students?

the main role of the student is to be someone who show interest in the classroom, students have to attend each class, and they have to collaborate in each activy that the teacher ask for their help,
sometimes when we are playing student´s role we do not know the effort that a teacher do in order to facilitate the information that we need to learn.
Is really difficult that some students do not understand the main role of them which is to pay attention in each class and attend each class.

WHAT ARE MY EXPECTATIONS OF AN EFL CLASSROOM?

At the begginig of this semester my expectations were the same, I needed to learn new thing during this semester in order to do things better.
I learned many things from each class, for example I enrich my vocabulary, I improve my fluency and I learned how to control my nerves in front of my students.
During my observations to the teachers, I learned how to manage students into the classroom, how to an authority without hurt anyone.
It was a nice experience in which I learned more than I imagine.

FINAL REPORT

Hello everyone, as you know this is my last blog of teaching practicum, it is really nice to know that through this year, I feel really happy because it is my last year at the university.
I faced many problems, many difficulties, many obstacles and I had many differences with some of my classmates,
As I said before it was really difficult for me to be at the university all the time that I had to be becausse of my job. I had to many things in order to finish my teaching practicum, I had to change some dates when I had to present some homeworks assigments etc. but I feel really proud because I finish this and I work at the same time.
the experience that I had during this year and this last semester was wonderful, I knew new people, new students, and I shared many things with my teachers.
I had the last experience with students from English access, I really like them because they like to participate a lot in each activity that I did. At the begginig I was afraid about them because they are teenagers, I though that working with teens are really difficult because they like to talk in the class a lot or they could be so difficult to manage. Believe it or not I wanted to quit when I notice that I had to teach in English access but at the end was the best experience that I ever had.
I enjoyed every single time with my students, I tried to do my best in each class, I prepared as many activies as I can because I know how difficult is to learn English and how difficult is when you do not understand something that the teacher is explaining.
I did my best this last year, it was a very good experience to share your knowledge with other and too feel that you are really important in the classroom is something that you can not explain.

I thanks God because He helped me a lot during this semester, to my teacher that were my support during this year and all of my classmates that were really nice with me.
